Financial Adviser

  •  Tailorednz
  •  Sep 2012 - Apr 2022

In this role I worked with small businesss, and individuals/families putting in place financial plans both in the insurance and investment space.
I worked closely with families to plan a financial roadmap for their future, advising them on how best to protect themselves and get in to the strongest position financially so ensure they achieved their goals and aspirations.
I took on advanced education in this role surplus to what was required, and not only achieved RFA and AFA status (later changed to Financial Adviser) but I also studied whilst in full time employment and successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Personal Financial Planning.
I resigned from this role for a couple of reasons, primarily to achieve more of a lifestyle balance with family and commitments with another business, but also because I was looking for a change having worked with the firm for nearly 10 years.
The role required me to have exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills due to the sensitvie nature of the work, both regarding discussing in detail clients finances, but also helping families and couples establish what their personal and professional goals were and work out a way to achieve them.
Alongside this a signficiant eye for detail was needed with the obvious need for high levels of accurancy, as well as navigating extremely strict compliance rules and regulations as enforced by the FMA.
