The role and what it takes to be successful
Our Plant Operators work in different plants across our Glenbrook site involved in different stages of the steelmaking process – from making magic turning iron sand into steel, all the way through to putting the final touches on our product before it heads out the gate. Our operators are responsible for the production of steel products and general housekeeping duties within their work area.
The nature of our operations is 24/7. This means our Plant Operators work a variety of shift patterns with the most prominent being a rolling shift pattern of 4x shifts of 12-hours (both day and night shifts) followed by 4 rest days, although some areas offer day shifts only. To ensure that operational requirements are met, additional hours may be offered when needed.
We provide all the training you will need, you just need to bring the ability to work in a team environment, good communication and interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic. We can show you the rest, so being able to accept direction from your Supervisor or senior crew members is also important.
We want our teams to reflect our community, so being able to relate to a diverse range of people and help us maintain an inclusive environment is important.
Your strong desire to go above and beyond to get the job done safely and on time is key to success in this role.
