Trade Me is one of New Zealand’s most popular websites with over four million members and more than 650,000 Kiwis visiting our site every day.

We have an ambitious strategy to scale up our SEO and we’re looking for a Senior SEO Specialist to play a key role in achieving the vision. The  Senior SEO specialist will lead SEO & organic search growth for all Trade Me sites (Marketplace, Motors, Property and Jobs) championing SEO best practice across the company. With a strong understanding of organic search trends and our business, brands & products, you will identify and prioritise operational opportunities & ensure we optimise onsite function, experience, content, product and marketing to maximise SEO & other organic traffic.

Here’s what you can expect from this role:
* Conduct technical SEO audits, keyword research, keyword mapping, link building and content pruning activities; and developing implementation plans to identify problems that may be interfering with how search engines crawl, index and surface content
* Analyse competitor data to identify trends and opportunities to implement into our SEO strategy resulting in top search engine rankings among competitors.
* Monitor and report on SEO performance to internal stakeholders and clients using analytics dashboards and other reporting tools
* Support delivery teams on high priority SEO optimisation initiatives working with Delivery manager, product and developers.
* Edit content, title tags, and meta descriptions both on page and for the blog utilizing SEO best practices.
* Plan and execute successful & sustainable link building campaigns
* Help product managers in Trade me to maximise SEO value from product improvements and new products (including testing landing pages, suggesting best technical approach)
* Help Product Managers and Head of Products & Head of Engineering create business case & broad technical directions or guidance for each SEO related development or technical change
* Keep up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, strategies and algorithm changes, and developing new SEO tests and strategies to identify new growth opportunities
* Understand and advocate within Trade Me for a robust and holistic Content Strategy to support our Users and Search Engines alike

What you will bring to our team:
* 5+ years of recent SEO experience
* 5+ years recent experience optimising large websites (1 million+ URLs) for SEO traffic
* Experience working on Marketplace / Classifieds websites a bonus
* Design ability / creative thinking
* Good peer network & global SEO community interaction
* Experience with HTML, AJAX, CSS, JavaScript is a bonus. Technical skills such as PHP, Perl,Python, XML, XHTML, PHP, ASP/.net coding or server administration experience is a plus
