To live our purpose of ‘powering better journeys today and tomorrow’ and deliver Z’s strategy we need strong teams with a high level of capability – our Digital Business Unit plays a key part in this.

In the newly created position of Uru Ratonga me ngā Whakahaere Head of Service & Operations you will drive the creation of excellence in Digital Service throughout Z. A key part of your mahi will be providing leadership and governance to the inhouse operations and service teams as well as areas delivered through external parties.

This is a senior role at Z and will see you make a real difference at an exciting time in the energy industry. Your ability to influence, encourage collaboration and guide experienced People Leaders will be key to success. While you will need to bring a level of experience in the IT sector this role is focused on driving performance, growing capability and leadership. Want to know more?

You will have the opportunity to

  • Represent Digital service and operations across Z, acting in a senior role and member of Z’s Digital Leadership Team
  • Drive service resilience and operational performance across our digital platforms and through our delivery of initiatives
  • Build a strong DevOps practice; creating a proactive, customer-focused ecosystem where issues are fixed before our people are impacted
  • Manage and grow the capabilities of Z’s Digital service and operations teams, these include Cloud Platforms, DevOps, and Digital EmployeeExperience
  • Work with our external providers to build a best-in-class service desk and support function
  • Manage external delivery relationships and budgets with key vendors to improve value for Z

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to Z

  • Demonstrated history of people leadership at a senior level as well as of a function within a commercial environment
  • An understanding of the digital landscape; the challenges, opportunities and developments
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship skills, the ability to influence outcomes, negotiate and drive change both internally and externally
  • Management of supplier relationships and a strong financial acumen
  • The ability to understand strategic directives and convey this into action to meet necessary outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences across all levels
  • The personal drive and energy needed to achieve results, striving for excellence and bring about positive change

The base salary range for this role is $202,500 to $236,250 per annum, plus 20% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
