Reporter - The Press newspaper, Christchurch
I began at The Press doing general reporting duties. In August 2006 I became the Education Reporter, a role I performed for 18 months until I went on maternity leave. During this time I covered early childhood education, school education and tertiary education, writing breaking news stories, investigative stories and features. I also covered the Court Reporters role for a number of months.
Reporter - Kent Messenger Group Newspapers, UK
As a reporter at the group’s flagship paper The Kent Messenger, I carried out general reporting duties producing content for both the print edition and the website. I was also responsible for running marketing campaigns and competitions. I also spent time in the role of news editor choosing the best stories and assigning them to pages and helping new reporters improve their skills.
