BAS MANAGER AT OXEN ACCOUNTING

$60 – $80 per hour – depending on experience

What we are looking for:
As an experienced BAS Accountant in the team, you’ll be working closely alongside the other accountants on a range of clients from different industries, as well as being strong in your ability to work autonomously and build a relationship with our client base.
Currently, the role is approximately 25-30 hours per week. Based on current growth we envisage this role becoming a full-time position in 2025 with the potential for the successful applicant to have an ownership share in the business.
Your key duties will be:
- Preparation of financial statements, tax planning & other compliance duties
- Managing workflow and ensuring that the jobs are completed within the set budget
- Be responsible for managing the outsourced team to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of financial statements and taxation returns.
- Managing the relationship and contact with Clients
- Training and migrating clients onto Xero
- Completion of monthly financial reports for key clients
- Attendance at weekly WIP’s to provide details of workflow and client account status
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum past experience of 5 years + at a local Accounting firm at a heavy intermediate-senior level
- Wide range of client portfolio experience: SMEs, Family Trusts, Sole traders
- Comfortable preparing a full set of accounts via Xero with a strong competency in Xero/Myob and other industry tools
- Excellent knowledge and technical skills working with CCH Work papers, Work Flow Max and Practice Manager.
- Strong knowledge of NZ IRD tax requirements and an appetite for self-research and problem solving in relation to complex tax matters and business scenarios
- Be able to multitask, have a strong attention to detail, and outstanding time management
- Excellent communication style and ability to work within a close team
- Full New Zealand passport or permanent residency status
- Full, clean New Zealand driving licence
